The past decade has seen a flurry of academic and practitioner interest in organizational culture. This has coincided with an increase of theoretical interest in organizational marketing. However, despite some obvious linkages, there have been few studies examining the links between the two. Specifically, such cultures are presented as stratified, processual and subcultural.

Cultural imperialism also called cultural colonialism comprises the cultural aspects of imperialism. Thus,the cultural imperialism is the practice of promoting and imposing a culture, usually that of a politically powerful nation , over a less powerful society; in other words, the cultural hegemony of industrialized or politically and economically influential countries which determine general cultural values and standardize civilizations throughout the world. The term is employed especially in the fields of history, cultural studies , and postcolonial theory. It is usually used in a pejorative sense, often in conjunction with calls to reject such influence. Cultural imperialism may take various forms, such as an attitude, a formal policy, or military action, insofar as it reinforces cultural hegemony.

Cultural imperialism , in anthropology , sociology , and ethics , the imposition by one usually politically or economically dominant community of various aspects of its own culture onto another, nondominant community. It is cultural in that the customs, traditions, religion, language, social and moral norms, and other aspects of the imposing community are distinct from, though often closely related to, the economic and political systems that shape the other community. While the term cultural imperialism did not emerge in scholarly or popular discourse until the s, the phenomenon has a long record.
