Does anyone know if cell phone cameras and other recording devices are typically banned in strip clubs, and if so, how do they go about enforcing this? Or are patrons allowed to take photos of the performers? Could you take pictures of just patrons in the club? BTW, this is for a novel I'm working on, and not my weekend plans; Thanks.
From the series 'The Gods,' by Ivar Wigan. All photos courtesy of Wigan. Most photographers are not invited to take out their cameras at strip clubs, or to document casual hangs with the Bloods. But Ivar Wigan—perhaps due to his soft-spoken, Scottish charm—always seems to be invited to the party. Wigan's photography series, The Gods , is a celebration of the culture and community around hip-hop in the American South.
Around 10 most nights, Nikeisah Newton hops into her car for a minute drive into downtown Portland, Ore. Newton said. Newton, whose ex-girlfriend is a former stripper, has joined a wave of dancers and their allies across the nation who are fighting to reform labor practices; put an end to sexual harassment and discrimination in their workplaces; and stifle the stigma around what they believe is as legitimate a profession as any.
I get it, I get it! But give me a break! First of all, most clubs are too dark for discernible shots for the camera phone, unless it has a flash which would be BEYOND stupid, because everybody in the dark club would see it.
