A few months ago, Comedy Central released a video depicting the fake Foley art of the make-out scenes from The Bachelor : raw chicken cutlets slapped together; a man jamming his fist into a giant jar of mayonnaise. We talked to several Foley artists about how they create the sounds behind sex scenes. The explanations are at once more pedestrian and more interesting than you might imagine. Or, in the context of sex scenes: kissing, touching, the sound of a headboard banging against a wall. The basic Foley elements of most sex scenes are the same: A Foley artist will, for example, rub their hands against their arms for skin-to-skin contact between two people.

Here's how I spent last night, alone with nothing but cold pizza and self-pity for company: I put on an acid house record—maybe "Rise From Your Grave" by Phuture—and halfway through it, I did the loudest impression I could of the most cliched kind of male orgasm imaginable. It sounded strange. It sounded sort of alien and uncomfortable, and not just because I'd been pretending to cum to an old acid house record on a day when everyone else—or so it seems—on earth was out having the shag of the year. It sounded odd because outside of life and pornography, it's a sound we're rarely presented with. The female orgasm, on the other hand, is a relatively prevalent sample-source.

About: I told a couple that I'm friends with about Freesound and they got real excited pun intended. I edited the recording a bit in Audacity. They are cool with this recording being put on Freesound.
